How do we perceive fashion?

Fashion which means the latest style in regards to clothing, hair, or behavior has conquered the urgencies of people in today’s world. With more than 200 brands evolving every day in the fashion market, it is presiding us in every way possible. There was a time where fashion was considered as a tool to bring social impact or was a pertinent part of the revolution. However, in today’s scenario, do we consider it that way? How do we perceive fashion in today’s world? Let’s believe it or not- Fashion is going to prolong as long as clothes or accessories or IDEAS are going to exist.

How do we perceive fashion?

Let’s just accept it, fashion has transformed our lives in any or every way possible. From top to toe, fashion is ruling over our bodies. There was a time where the meaning of Fashion was authoritative and revolutionary. However, it has been reduced to fine-looking word ‘Chic’.

Fashion has curated a gap between the previous and our generation. Look around in your family and you might observe what your grandmother or your mother must be wearing! There was a time, where ‘Fashion’ sense was limited to stages or photoshoots. Not many were bothered with Glitz and Glamour. Slowly, with the increment in Brands, the youth has started focusing on ‘how to look good’.

Every day, a girl might just dream of becoming a blogger or influencer on Instagram because that’s where the exposure resides. All of the designs and ideas have been reduced to ‘Social Validation’. Open your Instagram, and you might end up looking “Clear Skin in 5 mins.” Or “What to wear so that you look better”. Somewhere, this content has become a cynosure of all eyes but the grim reality is that this “fashion” has changed our lives. We have started questioning ourselves.

Raise your hands (not literally) if you agree with me on the questions I am going to jot down below-

- Don’t you feel like becoming one of the influencers after realizing the fame and name they have earned?

- Don’t you end up buying one or the other item just because they are looking good or they mention it as “comfort wearing?”

- Okay, Vote for this one!! Have you ever realized how rich people are on Instagram while you can’t even spend M of money?

After answering one or two or all the questions. Do you realize where have we come? From a wristwatch to a broch, we have allowed fashion in peculiar things as well.

In conclusion, All the Fashion-nerds out there! You might be pinpointing all the errors in my theory, I get it! But somewhere let’s just contemplate and come to the real world. Slowly and slowly, this is where we are leading to.
